A few minutes ago I was turning left from a highway onto a road. A full size SUV was stopped at the stop sign on the road. I turned around the SUV in my lane and was treated to a female pedestian crossing the road behind the SUV. Hello!!! The marked crosswalk (sidewalk to sidewalk) was in front of the SUV. Fortunately for her I was travelling at a very slow speed and could stop without hitting her. She did not even look in my direction! I still cannot conclude if these incidents are suicide attempts, monetary gain attempts, or shear stupidity. |

Yes Misha I think you are correct. The only cure for her stupidity would have been if I was going very fast and had extinguished her. Of course I would have suffered extreme remorse. This happened in clear daylight. The "ninjas" in their dark clothing at night doing the same thing are the real problem. |

Oh, those ninjas... I can't even blame them, because I remember myself being totally ignorant to this problem - until I almost hit a guy with my car once! Just because i totally did not see him. It's a trouble waiting to happen, really. I wonder how many dark clothed people die every day in traffic accident around the world? |

lol, I'd go with suicide attempts! 
Better than jumping in front of the train - which is I think is plain selfish, esp. during peak working hours! |

About a week ago a "ninja" was hit and seriously injured. They attempted to cross a 5 lane street. 35mph not in a crosswalk at night and were described on the local news as wearing dark clothing. |

Yesterday I was turning left from a turn lane. A box truck on the side street where I was turning was stopped at a stop sign. As I turned A pedestrian "shuffled" (I'm talking slow) into my lane from behind the truck! My speed was 10mph or less so I had no problem stopping. The pedestrian never looked in my direction! Are they ignorant, stupid, or suicidal? 10 mph would still hurt! There was a marked crosswalk in front of the truck!!! |
