Would anyone be able to tell me as much as you possibly know about the anything and everything pertaining to the 6 month probationary period after taking your road test?
I don't want to do anything I would regret, but also I am just interested (or want to be cautious haha) in everything pertaining to it.
Thanks! |

Oh gosh when I got my license I don't remember anything like that. Your driving instructor should have given all of the information to you on that. |

Are you in NY?
We have a similar thing here. Over 6 points in the first six months, and you will need to re-take your road test AND do the 5 Hour pre-licencing course again.
This is one way of weeding out the bad drivers not ready or deserving a licence. Since the actual road test.. is only 10 minutes. (all that time and money allow around here)..
If you can get someone to drive one way (carefully) for 6 months, they'll likely continue to drive this way. Isn't the saying tale "30 days to make or break a habit" ? Hows 180 days?
Most people might retake a road test but dont want to sit through a 5 hour class again!
Which is what I have to teach tomorrow morning at 9am. |
