Meaning of defensive driving being prepared for how we present in traffic. It also teaches us being attentive while we are driving, because of other drivers can’t control our destiny. Department of Transportation US reports that a large number of accidents stem because of driver’s mistake. These five defensive driving rules will make you safe and avoid hazards on road.

Average Speed: Forget the aggressive and lack of attentive driving to others. Keep safe distance between you and the car up ahead. Wear a seat belt to rescue yourself from being injured by accident.

Avoid Multitask Driving: Avoid eating, talking on phone, smoking, while you are driving. These things are distract our concentration and attentiveness.

Observe the 4-to-5 second rule: You have the best tact of to prevent yourself in to an accident in front of you. Just use the 4-to-5 second rule; you can judge a safe distance, which will give sufficient time to control in traffic.

Get rid of distractions: Any kind of distraction breaks your concentration while you are driving. Don’t be a part of any activity, which diverts your attention from driving.

Watch on cars around you: With the help of your rear view and side mirrors, you can get idea about situation and what you may be facing in the near future.

Some good tips - well worth considering the impact driving like an idiot can have on other motorists (as well as the affect on your car insurance)!
