For senior citizens the defensive driving rules are different. We all need to make some changes as our body age grows and we compensate for vision and reflexes. Taking this point into mind the American Association of Retired Persons are making sure that the elderly people are all equipped with the knowledge to stay safe on road.

There was an incident wherein an elderly driver was on the driving lane without wearing the glasses. But such an incident reminds the defensive driving class that teaches some new defensive driving techniques to elderly ones and make them to deal with defensive drivers.

People with American Society of Elderly People believe it to be a issue which needs attention but it’s a thing one need to protect one’s beloved. Such classes are being offered at every second Saturday at Reynolds’s Institute of Aging. People above the age of 55 can get a discount on their auto insurance by taking such classes.

I feel sad saying this, but sometimes, some old people can be a serious hazard on the roads, especially, if they are not able to make the best use of their physical abilities. I have seen some elderly people drive in a way that makes me nervous by just looking at them!

I wonder if there's an age after which it is considered unsafe for them to drive by themselves, or is that case specific?
